My Journey to SEO
Hi! I’m Abdul Rehman, a guy from Karachi, Pakistan, who loves helping people make their websites shine on Google. When I was 14, back in 8th grade, I was just a kid playing mobile games and watching YouTube videos all day. The sounds of game music and the bright colors of my phone screen kept me glued. But then, I got curious about making money online. I tried graphic design first, learning Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop from a course at GFX Mentor. It was fun to create cool images, but it didn’t feel right for me. I spent a few months designing logos, earning some pocket money, but my heart wasn’t in it.
One day in 2022, I stumbled on a YouTube video about SEO, specifically off-page SEO. It was like finding a treasure map! The video explained how to help websites rank higher on Google, and I was hooked. I started learning about backlinks and keywords, spending hours reading blogs and watching tutorials. The excitement of seeing a website climb Google’s ranks felt like winning a game. By 2023, I built my own blog on WordPress, figuring out how to set it up myself. That’s when I got into on-page and technical SEO, learning how to make websites fast and easy for Google to find. My blog got 3,000 clicks a month in Google Search Console and 10,000 visitors according to Ahrefs. That made me so proud!
Becoming an SEO Pro
In 9th grade, I learned basic coding at school, like HTML and CSS. It was like solving puzzles, and it helped me understand technical SEO better, like fixing broken links or making sites load faster. In 2024, I joined Squareqom (A Software House in Karachi) as an intern, then became a junior SEO. Under my senior’s guidance, I worked on real projects, feeling nervous but excited to help websites grow. Later, I moved to YNC Pakistan (A Software House in Karachi) as an SEO executive, managing big projects for brands in the USA and UAE. I ranked tough keywords in the top 100 for new websites, like e-commerce stores and software companies. One time, I got a hot sauce company’s keyword to number one on Google! Another time, I helped a UAE meal delivery service get 10 times more leads. At AGI Group Inc. (A group of companies), where I’ve been an SEO specialist since June 2025, I’m working on new brands, making them shine online.
I also passed the HubSpot SEO exam in February 2025, and I finished my Intermediate in Computer Science this year. Every project teaches me something new, like how to recover a website that’s not ranking. Once, I brought a software company’s site back from zero to top 100 in six months. It was tough, but I never give up. When I’m stuck, I keep digging for solutions, like a detective hunting for clues. That’s what makes SEO so fun for me!
